Product Description

This product is a F(ab) fragment derived from the anti-mouse PD-1 antibody clone RMP1-14-CP157. PD-1, also known as CD279, is an inhibitory receptor expressed on activated T cells, B cells, and myeloid cells. Upon binding its ligands, PD-L1 and PD-L2, PD-1 negatively regulates immune-cell activation by reducing T cell receptor signaling, proliferation, cytokine production, and effector function. The RMP1-14 antibody has been reported to block PD-1/PD-L signaling. Unlike a full-length antibody, this F(ab) fragment contains only the antigen-binding region and lacks the Fc domain. As a result, the fragment retains specific binding to mouse PD-1 while eliminating Fc-mediated effector functions such as complement activation and Fcγ receptor engagement. This format is useful in experiments where PD-1 targeting or blockade is desired without Fc-mediated cross-linking, immune-cell depletion, or other Fc-dependent effects that could complicate interpretation of PD-1 biology. F(ab) fragments targeting PD-1 may also be useful in emerging targeted-delivery strategies. For example, the fragment can be used to coat nanoparticles or other delivery systems intended to target PD-1-expressing immune cells and deliver genetic, pharmacologic, or imaging payloads. By avoiding Fc-mediated immune interactions, F(ab) fragments can enable receptor-specific targeting while reducing the potential for unintended Fc-dependent modulation or elimination of PD-1-expressing cells. This anti-mouse PD-1 F(ab) fragment therefore provides a useful reagent for studies focused on PD-1 binding and blockade without Fc effects, mechanistic investigation of the PD-1 pathway, and targeted-delivery approaches.
