InVivoMAb™ Functional Antibodies

Choose InVivoMAb antibodies™ when you need a functional, in vivo-ready clone from a broadly cited catalog, since each is purified and carrier protein-free to limit interference in living systems.

InVivoMAb antibodies are formulated for use in living systems: purified, preservative-, stabilizer-, and carrier protein-free, with low endotoxin (≤ 1 EU/mg). Every lot is screened for purity and integrity by SDS-PAGE.

Many InVivoMAb antibodies are also validated for in vitro applications, including cell and tissue culture and immunoassays such as Western blotting, ELISA, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and immunoprecipitation. Reported applications are listed on each product page. For additional QC such as murine pathogen testing and binding validation, see the InVivoPlus™ versions.

InVivoPlus™ Antibodies

Choose InVivoPlus antibodies when your model calls for added scrutiny beyond standard QC, since binding validation, aggregation screening, and murine pathogen testing reduce the variables an in vivo study can introduce.

InVivoPlus antibodies are the same clones as their InVivoMAb™ counterparts, structurally and functionally identical, held to a higher level of quality control. Alongside standard purity and lower endotoxin levels (≤0.5 EU/mg), each adds binding validation, antibody aggregation screening, and murine pathogen testing, accounting for more of the variables an in vivo study can introduce.

The comparison table below shows what each line includes.

InVivoSIM™ Biosimilar Antibodies

Choose InVivoSIM biosimilar antibodies when you want to study a drug’s biological effect without sourcing pharmaceutical-grade therapeutic material, since each carries the same variable region sequence as the original.

InVivoSIM biosimilars are research-grade antibodies produced by recombinant technology, each carrying the same variable region sequence as the original pharmaceutical drug. They enable study of a therapeutic’s biology without sourcing expensive pharmaceutical-grade material.

Applications include in vivo studies, functional assays, flow cytometry, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, and pharmacokinetic assays. Each is offered with the same purity and in vivo formulation as the rest of the portfolio, ultra-pure and free of preservatives, stabilizers, and carrier proteins, suiting them to demanding applications such as drug efficacy studies in humanized mouse models.

Recombinant Antibodies

Choose recombinant antibodies when reproducibility across cohorts and timepoints is the priority, or when you need defined Fc effector control, since sequence-defined production holds clone identity steady from lot to lot.

RecombiMAb™ antibodies are defined by sequence rather than by a hybridoma line. Built from established clone sequences, they retain the same antigen-binding specificity as their traditional counterparts while incorporating mouse or human IgG constant regions in place of rat or hamster IgG, improving compatibility in mouse and humanized models and reducing immunogenicity that can complicate interpretation.

Because the Fc is engineered rather than inherited, RecombiMAb™ antibodies are available in multiple Fc-engineered variants for controlled effector activity. Every lot is produced to in vivo-ready standards, high purity, low endotoxin, low aggregation, and murine pathogen screening, and is preservative-, stabilizer-, and carrier protein-free with binding validation to confirm specificity.

Isotype Control Antibodies

Choose an isotype control matched to your primary antibody’s species and isotype when your readout is a phenotypic change, since it separates target-specific signal from nonspecific background.

An isotype control distinguishes target-specific signal from nonspecific background. It matches the species and isotype of the primary antibody while having no specificity for the target, so any effect it produces reflects nonspecific binding rather than target biology.

This is most important when the readout is a phenotypic change, as in in vivo or in vitro blocking, neutralization, depletion, and activation experiments. Because these controls are often administered in vivo, they are prepared to the same standard, with no preservatives or stabilizers and low endotoxin. The table below lists the control lines across InVivoMAb™, InVivoPlus™, and RecombiMAb™ formats.

Multispecific Antibodies

Choose multispecific antibodies when your question requires engaging two or more targets at once, since a single recombinant molecule can provide insights that separate antibodies cannot.

Multispecific antibodies engage two or more targets with a single molecule, coordinating interactions that separate antibodies cannot guarantee, such as engaging an immune cell and a tumor cell or modulating two checkpoints together.

Bio X Cell multispecific antibodies are recombinant formats built for coordinated multi-target interrogation across preclinical and translational workflows, supporting checkpoint modulation, immune-cell engagement, pathway interaction studies, and tumor microenvironment research. The portfolio spans anti-mouse bispecific antibodies, anti-mouse trispecific antibodies, anti-human multispecific biosimilars, and custom multispecific engineering. Built on ~30 years of in vivo antibody expertise, they are produced to rigorous purity and reproducibility standards.

Fab and F(ab’)₂ Formats

Choose Fab or F(ab‘)₂ formats when Fc receptor binding or Fc-mediated effector function may confound your readout.

Fab and F(ab’)₂ formats retain antigen-binding specificity while removing the Fc region, eliminating Fc receptor binding and Fc-mediated effector functions that can confound a readout. Bio X Cell generates both ready-to-ship and custom fragments from validated in vivo antibodies.

Their compact, Fc-free architecture also reduces steric hindrance, suiting fragments to targeted delivery, in vivo cell therapy, and precision conjugation, including attachment to lipid nanoparticles carrying mRNA, siRNA, and gene editing payloads. Fragments are produced to the same in vivo-ready standards as full-length antibodies: high purity, low endotoxin, carrier- and preservative-free, and low aggregation.
