Team building at its finest!
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, we have been enjoying some novel approaches to team building. For July, we decided that it was time to take the fun away from Zoom and into the outdoors!
On July 15 the Bio X Cell team was invited to participate in a hike at French's Ledges located in Meriden, NH. Frenches Ledges is part of an extensive trail network perfect for hiking, mountain biking, and trail running in the summer, and cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. The land is part of the Upper Valley Land Trust and provides not only wonderful recreational opportunities, but also an excellent habitat for diverse species including mink, fisher, deer, and many types of birds.
Participants on the hike wore masks and followed appropriate social distancing guidelines as they hiked the steep terrain of the blue-blazed-bridge trail to the top of the 1,310-foot-high ledge.
It was a hot, beautiful summer day. As our first in-person team-building event since the coronavirus outbreak in March, the hike was a great opportunity for onsite and remote workers to see and catch up with each other. One person even brought his new puppy, Ruby, who delighted everyone with her antics. The children on the hike were especially delighted when Ruby decided to cool off in a stream under a bridge crossing.
At the summit, the panoramic views were incredible. The clear day gave a spectacular view of Croydon and Grantham Mountains, Mt. Ascutney, and the village of Meriden.
