The Montshire Museum was founded in 1974 and since that time has carried out its mission ā€œto awaken and encourage a lifelong interest in science through exhibits and programming dedicated to hands-on discovery and education for people of all agesā€. Each year, the Montshire Museum welcomes over 170,000 visitors from near and far. The museum offers a variety of permanent, rotating, and special exhibits, ensuring that new, rewarding experiences are available with each visit.

In response to state and federal restrictions resulting from the COVID-19 crisis, the Montshire Museum is not currently open to the public. The museum has, however, developed a digital learning series geared towards young learners exploring science at home. Topics in this series include color chemistry, skeletons, and eggs.

In order to support these virtual programs as well as offset the loss of revenue during the temporary closure of the museum, the Montshire Museum has established the Resilience and Recovery Fund. Contributions to this fund help the museum continue to care for live animals, pay their staff, develop online learning opportunities, and prepare to reopen in the future.

The Bio X Cell Fund is proud to support the Montshire Museumā€™s Resilience and Recovery Fund. The Montshire has been a wonderful gift to the Upper Valley community for the past 35 years, and it is our hope that the museum will continue to carry out its mission for many years to come.
