Product Description
Recombinant human noggin protein is a 64 kDa homodimeric glycoprotein and a key extracellular antagonist of BMP signaling, expressed during embryonic development and in adult cells. By binding BMP-2, -4, -6 and -7, noggin prevents these ligands from engaging their receptors and blocks downstream activation of BMP signaling cascades within the larger TGF-β family. Through this control of BMP signaling, noggin plays a crucial role in embryonic patterning and in the development of the neural tube, teeth, hair follicles and eye. In cell culture, recombinant noggin is widely used to maintain pluripotent stem cells, to differentiate iPSCs into neural lineages, and as an essential component of many organoid systems, including intestine, liver and lung organoids, making it a core reagent for stem cell and organoid research.
This protein is optimized for in vivo and functional applications: low-endotoxin, tag-free, and carrier-free, supporting reproducible performance in demanding preclinical and bioactivity studies.
Species reactivity: human. Species similarity: mouse - 99%, rat - 99%, bovine - 99%, porcine - 99%.
