Product Description
Recombinant human KGF (FGF-7) protein, keratinocyte growth factor, is a member of the large fibroblast growth factor family and, alongside FGF-3, FGF-10 and FGF-22, part of the FGF-7 subfamily. Secreted exclusively by the mesenchyme, KGF specifically activates the "b" isoforms of FGFR1 and FGFR2 (acting primarily through the IIIb splice form of FGFR2) in the overlying epithelium. KGF is required for development of the kidney, thymus and hippocampus and plays an important role in wound healing, a function highlighted in bioengineered skin studies. As a recombinant reagent, KGF (FGF-7) is widely used to generate many organoid types, including lung, breast, liver and bladder organoids, making it a valuable growth factor for epithelial and organoid research.
This protein is optimized for in vivo and functional applications: low-endotoxin, tag-free, and carrier-free, supporting reproducible performance in demanding preclinical and bioactivity studies.
Species reactivity: human. Species similarity: mouse - 96%, rat - 92%, bovine - 98%, porcine - 96%.
