Product Description
This Faricimab biosimilar antibody uses the same variable regions as the therapeutic antibody Faricimab, making it ideal for research use. Faricimab is a humanized, IgG1-based bispecific antibody that simultaneously targets human vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) and angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2; ANGPT2), two important regulators of angiogenesis and vascular stability. By binding VEGF-A, Faricimab inhibits VEGF-mediated receptor activation, endothelial cell proliferation, vascular permeability, and pathological neovascularization. Simultaneously, binding to Ang-2 prevents its antagonistic effects on Tie2 signaling, helping preserve the angiopoietin-1 (Ang-1)/Tie2 pathway that supports vascular stability. Dual inhibition of VEGF-A and Ang-2 provides a valuable approach for investigating the interplay between angiogenesis, vascular leakage, inflammation, and endothelial cell function. Faricimab also incorporates Fc engineering to reduce Fc-mediated effector activity and systemic exposure. This Faricimab biosimilar is well suited for studying VEGF-A and Ang-2 signaling, endothelial cell biology, angiogenesis, vascular permeability, retinal vascular disease, and for benchmarking the therapeutic antibody's mechanism of action in preclinical experimental systems.
