Product Description
This Benralizumab biosimilar antibody uses the same variable regions as the therapeutic antibody Benralizumab, making it ideal for research use. Benralizumab is a humanized IgG1κ monoclonal antibody that specifically targets human interleukin-5 receptor alpha (IL-5Rα; CD125), a cell-surface receptor subunit expressed on eosinophils and basophils. By binding IL-5Rα, the antibody blocks IL-5 receptor signaling, a pathway involved in eosinophil development, survival, and activation. The reference therapeutic features an afucosylated Fc that enhances FcγRIIIa binding and antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), promoting depletion of IL-5Rα-expressing cells. This research-use biosimilar is assumed to have a conventionally fucosylated Fc, so its Fc-mediated effector activity and cell-depletion potency should not be considered equivalent to those of the reference therapeutic without experimental confirmation. This Benralizumab biosimilar is well suited for studying IL-5Rα binding, IL-5 receptor signaling, eosinophil biology, and type 2 inflammation, as well as for investigating how Fc glycosylation influences antibody effector function in preclinical experimental systems.
