Product Details

This non-therapeutic biosimilar antibody uses the same variable regions as the therapeutic antibody, Etokimab, making it ideal for research use. Etokimab is a humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody that reacts with interleukin-33 (IL-33) of human and cynomolgus monkey species. IL-33 is a member of the IL-1 family of cytokines, and it is constitutively expressed by epithelial cells, endothelial cells, and fibroblastic stromal cells. IL-33 is an alarmin cytokine which is released when a cell or tissue is damaged. IL-33 plays an important role in tissue homeostasis/repair, type 2 immunity, viral infection, allergic and non-allergic inflammation, and cancer. The binding of secreted IL-33 to its receptor ST2, also called the IL-1 receptor accessory protein (IL-1RAP) heterodimer, triggers MyD88-dependent NF-κB or AP-1 signaling pathways, thereby upregulating inflammatory cytokines crucial to the pathogenesis of both allergic and non-allergic inflammatory disorders. IL-33 targets Th1 cells, Th2 cells, basophils, eosinophils, macrophages, DCs, neutrophils, CD8+ T cells, NK cells, and iNKT cells. The etokimab antibody (formerly known as ANB020) has been shown to inhibit the release of IFN-γ by IL-33/IL-12 in in vitro preclinical experiments. Etokimab has been used to neutralize IL-33 in various diseases, including atopic dermatitis (AD), eosinophilic asthma, and chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP), as well as allergic inflammation in various tissues (such as skin and nasopharyngeal/pulmonary tissues).
