Product Description

This Risankizumab biosimilar antibody uses the same variable regions as the therapeutic antibody Risankizumab, making it ideal for research use. Risankizumab is a humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody that specifically targets the p19 subunit of human interleukin-23 (IL-23), a pro-inflammatory cytokine involved in the differentiation, maintenance, and activation of Th17 cells. IL-23 is a heterodimeric cytokine composed of p19 and p40 subunits and plays a central role in regulating IL-17-mediated immune responses, chronic inflammation, and autoimmune disease. By selectively binding IL-23 p19, Risankizumab prevents IL-23 from interacting with its receptor complex, thereby inhibiting downstream JAK2/TYK2–STAT3 signaling and reducing IL-23-dependent inflammatory responses. Unlike antibodies targeting the shared p40 subunit of IL-12 and IL-23, Risankizumab selectively inhibits IL-23 without directly blocking IL-12 signaling. This selectivity makes it a valuable tool for distinguishing the contributions of IL-23 and IL-12 to immune regulation and inflammatory disease. This Risankizumab biosimilar is well suited for studying IL-23/Th17 signaling, T-cell differentiation, cytokine-mediated inflammation, psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease, and autoimmune disease mechanisms, as well as for benchmarking the therapeutic antibody's target engagement and neutralizing activity in preclinical experimental systems.
