Product Description
This Bavunalimab biosimilar antibody uses the same variable regions as the investigational antibody Bavunalimab, making it ideal for research use. Bavunalimab is a humanized, IgG1-based bispecific antibody that simultaneously targets human CTLA-4 and LAG-3, two inhibitory immune checkpoint receptors involved in limiting T-cell activation and antitumor immunity. Bavunalimab uses an engineered half-IgG/scFv bispecific architecture, with distinct binding domains recognizing CTLA-4 and LAG-3. By simultaneously blocking CTLA-4 and LAG-3, Bavunalimab is designed to inhibit two complementary mechanisms of T-cell suppression and enhance T-cell activation and proliferation. Both receptors can be expressed on activated and tumor-infiltrating T cells, with LAG-3 also associated with dysfunctional or exhausted T-cell states. Dual targeting provides a useful strategy for investigating interactions between these checkpoint pathways within the tumor microenvironment. This Bavunalimab biosimilar is well suited for studying CTLA-4 and LAG-3 biology, T-cell activation and exhaustion, dual immune checkpoint blockade, tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte function, and for benchmarking the investigational antibody's mechanism of action in preclinical experimental systems.
