Product Description
This Galcanezumab biosimilar antibody uses the same variable regions as the therapeutic antibody Galcanezumab, making it ideal for research use. Galcanezumab is a humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody that specifically targets calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), a neuropeptide that plays a central role in migraine pathophysiology. CGRP is released from sensory neurons within the trigeminovascular system and contributes to vasodilation, neurogenic inflammation, and pain transmission associated with migraine attacks. By binding soluble CGRP with high affinity, Galcanezumab prevents its interaction with the calcitonin gene-related peptide receptor, thereby inhibiting downstream signaling involved in migraine initiation and propagation. In addition to migraine, CGRP has important physiological roles in nociception, vascular homeostasis, and neurogenic inflammation, making it an important target for studying neurovascular biology. This Galcanezumab biosimilar is well suited for studying CGRP biology, neurovascular signaling, pain mechanisms, migraine pathophysiology, and for benchmarking the therapeutic antibody's target engagement and neutralizing activity in pre-clinical experimental systems.
