Product Description
This Milatuzumab biosimilar antibody is a humanized IgG1κ monoclonal antibody that targets human CD74, also known as the MHC class II invariant chain (Ii). CD74 is a type II transmembrane protein involved in MHC class II antigen processing and presentation and also functions as a receptor for macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF). CD74 is expressed by antigen-presenting cells, including B cells, dendritic cells, and macrophages, and is found on several hematological malignancies. Milatuzumab binds cell-surface CD74 and has demonstrated antitumor activity in preclinical models of B-cell malignancies. Its proposed mechanisms include modulation of CD74-associated signaling and induction of tumor cell death. CD74 undergoes rapid internalization following antibody binding, making it an attractive target for antibody-drug conjugate development. Milatuzumab has also been investigated clinically for the treatment of B-cell lymphomas and other hematological malignancies.
